Introduction To Credit Cards

The Organization would set up an account directly through the processor's platform. Auctria has no control over these accounts or how the funds will be managed and processed.

Although Auctria has integrations with credit card processing companies, we do not manage or take steps to set up an account for the organization with these companies.

Processing Credit Cards transactions in Auctria requires connecting to a supported payment processing service. Auctria currently supports integrating with either Stripe.comopen in new window (recommended) or Authorize.Netopen in new window (in general, continue using when you have an existing merchant account).

Opening an account with one of these services is straightforward online. However, it requires verifying your identity so you can process charges for the organization you represent. Your Organization would need to open an account with one of these payment processors (if you don't already have one) and authorize Auctria to process charges through your account.

These credit card transactions occur between your Organization and your bidders; Auctria facilitates these transactions only and has no access to any account settings of your processing service.

An Organization can only connect to a single processor account at a time in Auctria.

For more information on Credit Cards and how to connect to one of the supported credit card processing services, please see our Reference: Credit Cards section under Unknown link 'Dashboard'.

All Credit Card features require a payment processing integration feature set to be enabled.

Once a credit card number has been entered, it is impossible to retrieve the original credit card number again. However, cards can be registered against a bidder and charged in the future, although no one can see the number.

Auctria does not support capturing raw credit card numbers. All integrated card processing is handled securely, in a PCI-compliant manner, through the connected payment processor.

Credit Card Processors

Processing Credit Card transactions in Auctria requires connecting to a supported payment processing service. Auctria currently supports integrating with the following:

All Credit Card functions in Auctria are tied directly to having Credit Card Integration enabled. If it is not enabled, you will not see these feature sets.

PayPal's virtual terminal product app (or their mobile payment app) or Square's mobile payments can be used alongside Auctria to process credit cards at checkout (Note: this is not an integration).

These transactions would still need to be manually recorded in Auctria. You would follow the same method as if the bidder had paid using the "Other Payments" option (for example, cash or check).

Please see our FAQs Can We Use PayPal? and Can We Use Square? for more details as well as Checkout Payment Options for additional information on using these types of payment methods.

Registering Credit Cards

Credit Cards can be registered at multiple points on the Auctria platform. The most common approach is to have your guest register their credit card when registering for the event (under Online Payment Options).

During the checkout process, you can also register a Credit Card for future use with the event.

Registering Credit Cards is also an option that can be set as a requirement for bidding (under Online Bidding Behavior).

Whether you should have your guests register their Credit Card depends mostly on your audience and their expectations. There is no requirement to use Credit Card Integration, although most organizers find it very convenient over using multiple systems to process and record payments accurately.

To Register Credit Cards, you must have Credit Card Processing enabled.

Credit Card Reports

The most common reports for Credit Cards are the Credit Card Charges and Credit Card Summary reports.

  • Reports > Financial | Payments > Credit Card Charges
  • Reports > Financial | Payments > Credit Card Summary

These reports provide essential information generally looked for about the credit card transactions from the event. You can also expand on these default reports using the Choosing Columns function.

For more information about these reports, see Credit Card Reports in our User Guide under the Auction Team Experience > Credit Cards section.
