Introduction to Categories
Auctria empowers you to create and implement a variety of Categories. These can be configured to your specific needs, enhancing your ability to track and report on event data.
Categories are event-specific pieces of information.
Item Categories
The Item Categories feature set allows you to better organize and display groups of items on your event website or with a Printed Event Catalog. To view your current Item Categories, click through Items All Categories. This will open the Item Categories list report.
To add a new Category, visit How To Add A New Item Category.
Expense Categories
With Auctria, tracking and reporting on event expenses is a breeze. Use the Expenses feature.
You can access the Expense Dashboard by clicking through Financials Expenses. This will open the Expense Dashboard view.
The Expenses functions in Auctria provide comprehensive support. You can define categories, add or edit expenses, and track expenses by category, ensuring you have complete control over your financial data.
Please see Expense Categories for more details.
Sales Tax Categories
Pre-Requisites
- The Sales Tax feature requires a paid license with Auctria.
- To collect sales tax, you must first create one or more Sales Tax Categories.
To access the Sales Tax dashboard, click through Items Sales Tax. This will open the Sales Tax page view.
You can collect Sales Tax on the items you sell and generate reports showing the amount collected using Sales Tax Categories. Sales Tax Categories define the rates for taxes that are tracked in Auctria.

Consignment Categories
Expense Categories are required to use Consignment Categories.
These are the categories assigned by the automatically generated expense records.
You can access Consignment Categories by clicking through Items Consignment Categories. This will open the Consignment page view.
Consignment Categories can be used to organize and manage any consignment items you may have available with your event. These categories can be generic and apply to multiple items or specific to a single item. This will depend on arrangements made regarding the sale of Consignments.
