# Customize Elements 2019
Customizing elements lets you change the embedded text, or switch icons & images.
To customize an element, move your mouse pointer over an element until the controls outline appears.
Click on the Settings link in the upper right corner of the element.

Select the Customize pane on the left.
Note
The Customize pane is available on all elements but only "works" with 'rich content' blocks. Normal text and image content items are modified just by double-clicking on them within the element's block.
The dynamic elements are configured through their Settings dialogs
# Customizing Content within an Element
The Customize tab, of the Settings window, can be used to adjust styling on specific blocks of content.
As you move the mouse pointer over the different blocks in the element they will show a gray border if they can be customized further. Click on one to select it, the border will change to a red dotted line.
You can use the Style tab to set a background and foreground color for just this block.
# Save Settings
After editing the settings, click Save to continue making changes to the element, or click Save & close to save the element and close its Settings window.
Click Cancel to not save any of your changes and close the Settings window.
