Modify Element Settings
To modify element settings, move your mouse over an element until the outline appears and you see Settings and Delete appear in the right corner.
The available settings will vary depending on the type of element.
There are a number of settings that apply the same to all elements regardless of their type.
The visibility setting controls who can see the element
Click Appearance on the left and then click Visibility.
- Everyone: any visitor to the site will see the element
- Bidders only: only people signed in as a bidder will see it
- Non-bidders only: only people not signed in as a bidder will see it
- Registered users only: only those people with access to the auction dashboard as users will be able to see it.
Click Appearance on the left, and then click Layout. If necessary, change the margins and padding.
If the option to make the element full width is enabled, then it will be stretched across the full width of the screen. Otherwise it will be limited to the default 940px centered on the screen.
Generally this setting should be left off.
Margin settings affect how much room is left around the element. Padding is similar, but leaves the white space inside the element.
Height settings can be used if you need to force a minimum (or maximum) amount of space to be used for the element. Generally you should be careful about using this, since it may have an adverse impact on how the element appears on a smaller sized screen, such as a smartphone.
Adjusting the height of an element is an advanced feature.
It is possible to make it difficult to interact with an element by forcing the height to a very small size.
Generally you should rarely need to set a fixed height on an element.
Click Appearance on the left, and then click Background. The current background is shown.
Background settings allow you to change the color, add an image in the background of an element, and add a border.
Click inside the background box to change the background.
The background editor appears.
To change the background color, click in the color box. Select a color or enter a hex code for the color you want, and then click choose.
To add a background image, click Select next to image. A popup window will appear where you can drag the image you want to use for the background.
To remove a background image, click Clear next to Image.
Click the check mark to save background changes.
The CSS Rules tab allows you to specify custom CSS rules if you are familiar with website design.
This is an advanced feature, see Custom CSS rules for some more details.
The Customize pane is used to change some text, image & icons within a content element. See Customize Elements
