Before enabling bidder registration, you should set-up your website. See Creating A Website for more details.
To configure Bidder Registration for your auction, click on Website in the main menu and then click the Bidder Registration link under Online Features.
Allow bidders to register online
In the Bidder Registration section, you can see the current status of this feature.
If this is a new auction, the status will be set to No; edit the section to set the option to Yes and enable Bidder Registration.
When bidder registration is allowed, you can specify a precise date and time range for Bidder Registration to be available.
Leave Registration times blank if you don't want to specify, or require a start/end time.
The Bidder Registration time frame is different from the Online Bidding time frame.
Allow bidders to save credit cards
Several options are available for saving bidder credit card information with your auction data. If you have credit card processing enabled, you can specify either of the Yes options available to save credit card data.
Enter the list of meal choices to present bidders if they bought tickets through the website.
Who Can Register
There are two means of restricting who can function as a bidder in the auction. You can ensure that all bidders have pre-approval as well as restrict the internet domain(s) their email address can be from.
Bidders must be pre-approved
If set to Yes bidders must be pre-approved by having a pre-existing bidder record that matches their email address. This requires that you pre-populate the auction will details on any bidder that is allowed to register.
If set to No (the default) anyone can register without being pre-approved. Turn this option on if you want to limit registration to a group of people you know beforehand (by email address) and will create bidder records for. If you want to limit registration only to bidders with an email address at a certain domain, use the Domain bidders are limited to option.
Domain bidders are limited to
If you want to only allow bidder registration from a fixed set of domains you can specify them here as a comma separated list. It's important to enter only the domain name, for example, mycompany.com, relatedcompany.com. To add a list of domains, that will be considered restricted, simply click the OnlineRegistrationDomains placeholder and enter the domain(s) as needed.
If this setting is left as is (with only the placeholder displayed), then a bidder can register with any email address.
You can choose to send notifications when a bidder completes their registration.
Check 'Send bidder# in email' option if you want each registrant to receive their bidder number ahead of time.
If you don't want the organization to receive notifications regarding each bidder registration, disable the Notify organization of bidder activity option.
